West
Bay Plans for New Housing Development
West Bay
Housing provides permanent and affordable housing for underserved populations with an emphasis on people with developmental
disabilities through a continuum of housing opportunities.
Group
Living Arrangements for Developmental Center Consumers
Agnews
Developmental Center will be closing per legislation in California Assembly
Bill 2100 by 2007. The three Regional Centers whose clients reside at
Agnews have the responsibility to provide community living opportunities
through small group homes to their respective clients. West Bay will
identify and assist the master developer, The Hallmark Group, to purchase
and renovate approximately 11 houses for GGRC’s Agnews consumers.
When permanent financing is obtained for these 11 homes, ownership and
property management will transfer to West Bay.
Group
Living Arrangements for Training Center Clients
West Bay
has assisted Kainos Home and Training Center, Redwood City, in meeting
their licensing requirements to provide affordable independent living
arrangements for their clients to have the opportunity, many for the
first time in their lives, to have their own home and own bedroom. West
Bay acquired and provides property management for the new Chantal and
Sanchez Houses, and also has managed the Kainos campus renovations.
Home Donation
Model
West Bay
is developing a model for home donation in exchange for the disabled
adult to continue to live in the family home rent free, receive supportive
services, and enjoy the company of two or three other roommates.
New Construction
Set-Aside Units
West Bay
has entered into a Memorandum of Understanding with Citizen’s
Housing to provide set aside affordable units serving people with developmental
disabilities as part of the expansion of Rosa Parks Senior Housing in
San Francisco’s Western Addition.
West Bay
is exploring other opportunities in San Mateo County to develop set-aside
units for the clients of GGRC.
New Construction
Especially for People with Developmental Disabilities
West Bay
is currently pursuing new development opportunities in San Francisco
to provide affordable housing exclusively for people with developmental
disabilities.
